Racketeering Explained
Racketeering is a type of organized crime in which an enterprise is created, and many illegal activities are operated and executed under it, forming a racket of criminals. The enterprise plays the role of the facade to mislead authorities; therefore, criminals wire and collect all the illegal income in its name.
Racketeering creates a false enterprise, sometimes a legal firm, to operate and execute illegal criminal activities like extortion, robbery, arson, murder, obscenity, and other forms of organized crimes. It is mostly defined as organized or white-collar crimes operated and ruled by certain mafias and people with high connections in authority. It is a common offense in the U.S., the U.K., and many parts of Europe, forming a syndicate of people performing illegal activities To stop such crimes, the U.S. government introduced the RICO Act in the 1970s, which till now, has identified and caught thousands of criminals working directly or indirectly with such firms. Why would a christian take other believers or a christian ministry to court? When illegal and unlawful activity has been committed. Remember, all crimes are sin, but not all sins are crimes. The church handles the sin, but the state handles the crimes. God has ordained both the church and state to demonstrate and administer justice in their areas of authority. The church is not qualified or authorized by God to handle wrongdoing when it comes to illegal and unlawful activity. (Romans 13:1-5) Believers are also commanded by God to report and be a truthful witness to any illegal or unlawful activity they witness or is in question. Christians and churches are not above the law and are held accountable by God and the state to same the same standards as everyone else. Corruption is corruption wether it’s religious corruption or not.

What about Paul’s admonition in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 to not take a brother to court? The context of 1 Corinthians 6:1-6 is "Brothers" engaged in harmful, criminal activity are not to be treated as believers. CONTEXT: 2. Speaking to the Greecian, Roman culture of the time where debating "trivial" disputes in the public square was a pastime for public entertainment, much like movies and theatre are today. If the performance was impressive enough in the open court debate, winning could increase one's social status and also open up better economic opportunities. 3.. These disputes, however, were of minor and trivial matters as the scripture clearly states and also lines up with what would be appropriate for minor disputes that can serve as pastime entertainment. “Trivial” is defined as “of little value and importance.” However, Paul does specifically reference the court system when he speaks of judgments concerning things pertaining to this life. Paul affirms that the court system exists for matters of this life that are outside the authority and qualifications of the church. Personal offenses and minor wrongs should absolutely be worked out in the church if possible. The church should not attempt to adjudicate in matters of state law. 4. The church is qualified to handle sins. However, the church is not qualified to handle crimes. Only the state and federal courts of law have the God-given authority to handle damaging civil torts and criminal wrongs. All people, especially believers, are subject to God’s established system of punishing wrongdoing. If the church does not stay in its lane of authority, it invites and brings lawlessness and corruption into God’s house.
